The Alfred Lowe Tap Collective (ALTC) consists of a collection of the most artistic, innovative tap dancers in Houston. Looking to provide the same opportunities and guidance he received, ALTC provides instruction and performance opportunities to Houston's most dedicated tap craft persons. Not only has Alfred's talents in the dance community become widely acknowledged, but the ALTC name has come to encompass much more than just tap. What started as a small vision is quickly becoming a Houston Dance Institution.

The ALTC is a response to the reality that tap technique can be taught but soulfulness, personality and emotion cannot. The members of the ALTC are personally selected as they each demonstrate these characteristics in their performance and artistic expression. The ALTC has also filled the void of tap in the Houston dance scene. Named the Best Tap dancer by the Houston Chronicle, Alfred eagerly set out to fill the void. Having taught tap at over sixty dance schools from Galveston to Conroe and all areas in between, he has access to all the great tap dancers. The current members of the ALTC are Alfred's dream team and are showing Houston they are not only the best tap dancers but also the best dancers. Houston cannot claim to be a progressive dance city without the presence of a tap company; the Alfred Lowe Tap Collective is that company.

PERFORMANCES
Under the artistic direction of international tap artist Alfred Lowe, the ALTC explores the artistic and cultural relationship between rhythm tap and music. Through diverse and critically acclaimed choreography, this distinctive ALTC explores dance, rhythm, and movement through high-energy stage concerts, lecture demos, choreography and development residencies, master classes, educational programs at schools, outreach centers and charitable events.
