ALG LECTURES: EMPOWERING CHILDREN GLOBALLY

ALG YOUTH ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS
For more than 17 years ALG has provided youth enrichment programs for children across the world on six different continents. The programs are presented in the form of cultural enrichment programs, art initiatives and youth health expos. ALG is proud to announce such programs have enriched the lives of over 1,000,000 students, teachers, administrators, parents, and community participants world wide. ALG has provided constructive alternatives for socially, economically and educationally challenged youth of all ages across the world. The majority of these programs are done pro-bono as a way of giving back to the community and more importantly our children.

ALG CULTURAL CONNECTIONS THROUGH ARTS AND FITNESS PROGRAMS
One of the youth outreach programs ALG offers is “Cultural Connections”. The program is designed with a curriculum of dance and fitness activities to help nurture the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of children. He chose dance and sport related activities because those two areas universally appeal. While conducting youth outreach programs across the world there was one unfortunate reality no matter the location. It became overwhelmingly clear that the children who needed the most support received the least amount or no attention at all. Alfred believed a different model, appealing to children who are most likely to turn to negative influences would be most effective. In addition to the physical aspect of the programs ALG offers mentoring, tutoring and life skill lessons crucial for independence. Alfred has personally written hundreds of college recommendations, requests for college application fee waivers and employment reference letters for his students worldwide. ALG through Arts and Fitness focuses on dispelling myths about different cultures and traditions in our local, national and global communities by creating a unique opportunity for students to interact with a internationally acclaimed artist during professional master classes and educational performances. The exchanges between children and artist are designed to inspire creativity, foster communication and tolerance, promote cultural exchange, create a positive image of self and community and enrich the overall educational experience. The goal of ALG “Cultural Connections” is to foster understanding and friendships among the students from varying cultural and socio-economic backgrounds through the arts and fitness.

MAKE THE MUSIC – A CELEBRATION OF THE ARTS FOR CHILDREN WITH CHALLENGES
Make the Music – Celebration of the Arts for Children with Disabilities is an annual event offering a safe, friendly and artistic environment for students with various classifications of physical, cognitive and mental challenges. The program incorporates dance and music into an interactive performance where students, teachers, staff and parents have opportunity to exchange with Alfred and participate in an energy filled event of entertainment while learning. to experience dance and music arts together in a fun and festive setting. This celebratory event offers unique performance, classes and exciting lecture designed for various ranges of abilities and cognition. Alfred works with dedicated staff members and volunteers to ensure the students’ safety and enjoyment.

ALG EDUCATIONAL CULTURAL ENRICHMENT PROGRAM
There remains an urgent need for youth to connect with and understand and respect each other’s cultures. ALG programs has grown to have a presence on 6 continents as Alfred travels across the United States and internationally providing Cultural Enrichment Programs. As the world continues to evolve and develop, ALG keeps pace by creating new student programming with the goal being to ensure the youth worldwide have opportunities to learn about and connect with their peers. ALG’s first Cultural Enrichment program launched in 1998 and was a tremendous success as students were highly engaged, attentive and eager to attend each class and participate in each performance and lecture. This pilot confirmed for Alfred that his system and format was a much-needed compliment to today’s current educational offerings. During ALG’S educational cultural enrichment program the day is divided into three portions, #1 Student Activity, #2 Youth Lecture and #3Youth Performance. The Mission of an ALG Cultural Enrichment Program is to significantly impact the development of youth worldwide through events that increase student perspective, awareness, and appreciation for others. Alfred envisions a new standard in Global Youth Education – a standard that ensures children are educated and informed at an early age about the diverse people, places and cultures on our planet. ALG envisions a world where children grow up understanding the differences and similarities they have with children around the world. This awareness makes children well rounded, educated and eventually compassionate adults.

ALG TEAMS WITH KRAFT FOODS COLGATE-PALMOLIVE FOR STUDENT HEALTH INITIATIVES
ALG partnered with Colgate-Palmolive and Kraft foods to offer schools and community centers a day of presentation. The programs are all inclusive but ALG targets the youth as the belief is early education which prevents having to change incorrect habits later in life. ALG has presented this program to people across the world on six different continents often teaming with Fortune 500 companies to advance the movement. ALG has joined forces with Kraft Foods and Colgate-Palmolive to honor twenty youth selected as winners of a photography contest Promoting Health and Fitness education. The photographs challenged the children to capture photos reflecting an active and healthy lifestyle. Students were given digital cameras to take their photographs. Alfred lectured on the importance of a healthy life and how the arts can play a huge part in achieving health goals. The program helped children and parents learn about and participate in the three dimensions of the Active Life Movement, which include move, fuel and honor. The Active Life Movement teaches that these dimensions support each other and result in a healthy overall lifestyle. This program is crucial in motivating youth to become active, artist and aware of healthy living. ALG along with Kraft Foods and Colgate-Palmolive is dedicated to promoting health in a way that allows youth to express themselves creatively. ALG continues communication with students and families after the program being easily accessible for additional information on healthy living and eating. ALG is committed to educating people on making healthy choices for themselves and their future.
